Ozarkselite.com is an online guide to living the best life possible in and around the Ozarks. As of today August 8th, 2007, no other website about the Ozarks has a dynamic, live, active calendar of events. The wiki is about people sharing their interests and the really fun happenings here in and around the Ozark Mountains Region.

What will I get by participating ?
The old cliche you get out of it what you put into it applies in a sense but not completely. Our Ozarks Elite wikiCalendar is for sharing information about things to go do, sights to see, and people to meet. Some people may be looking for a fun day trip and others may have an event they want to publicize.

How do I contribute to the wiki?
First thing is to tell others about it. Second, to be able to edit the pages you must register with wetpaint. I chose this option to weed out spam-bots and malicious edits. Third, add anything you've heard about going on here in the Ozarks. The more people use it and add the more we all get out of the wiki.

How often is the wikiCalendar updated?
Unlike static website calendars that are rarely updated if they contain any information at all; our Ozarks Elite wikiCalendar is updated all the time! Rather than having a single person or a small team of family members that have to find the events, update the html and website, then upload the information to the server. Our wikiCalendar can be edited or updated by any of the millions of internet users, and it is updated instantly! Click on save after you've made your edits or additions and it's done and being viewed by the next person that surfs onto the page. There is no waiting on FTP uploads and multiple edits(updates) can be made at the same time!

Will the Ozarks Elite wikiCalendar always be at this web address?
No, wikis as a whole are new to the internet community. In fact a study did show that only 16% of internet users know what a wiki is. Also, only 30% of the most tech savy demographic ,single males aged 18-34, knew how wikis work. So what I'm saying is wikiCalendars are especially new and are rapidly developing. We are developing our own dedicated program for a wiki calendar that would allow for uploading of video, audio, and commercials etc. wetpaint is a temporary home for the Ozark's wikiCalendar, but don't let that stop you from participating and getting the word out.
